USDA Certified Organic Cinnamon Leaf Essential Oil

Cinnamon Leaf oil is similar to the Cinnamon bark oil, but much lighter and less refined than the oil from the cinnamon bark; both oils share similar benefits. While cinnamon bark is a dermal toxin and severely sensitizing and irritating to the skin, the Cinnamon leaf is only mildly irritating and is also very high in natural germ-killers called phenols. Note: oils extracted from bark, resins, roots of trees or plants will NOT work with a nebulizer because these oils are too thick and will cause clogging. Diffusion

Cinnamon Leaf oil is warm, sweet and spicy like the Cinnamon bark, but with a slightly clove-like scent, which it may remind you of cozy winter days around a fireplace while enjoying some hot mulled wine or spiced hot cider. It is much lighter and less refined than the oil from the cinnamon bark but shares many of its benefits. However, cinnamon bark is a dermal toxin and severely sensitizing, and also irritating to the skin. In comparison, the Cinnamon leaf is only mildly irritating and is also very high in natural germ-killers called phenols.

Fatigue: diffuse the oil to get the benefit of its uplifting effects. It works great with a nebulizer since the Cinnamon oil obtained from the leaf is not as thick as the Cinnamon bark, which clogs a nebulizer.

Viral infections and headaches: use in a nebulizer to get the full benefit of the oil, which is an effective antiseptic and may prevent the spread of infection.

 Topical Application

Muscle aches and arthritis: dilute a few drops with a carrier oil and massage gently into the painful areas.

Blood purification and improved circulation: mix a few drops of oil with a carrier oil and massage into larger areas of the body. This brings a host of benefits as improved circulation by facilitating a higher uptake of oxygen throughout the body; this, in turn, improves metabolism and promotes good health.

insect bites such as wasp stings: a few drops diluted in carrier oil have anti-inflammatory benefits and provide relief from the pain of wasp stings.

Anorexia and general loss of appetite: either inhaled through the use of a nebulizer or diluted with a carrier oil for a general body massage can help stimulate a poor appetite.

 Other Uses

Antimicrobial agent around the home: blended in a spray bottle with water, Cinnamon leaf oil is a perfect chemical-free alternative to commercial antibacterial sprays. It also has a far more pleasant smell, which makes it a win-win!

Oil Specific: mild dermal irritant, use sparingly and only diluted. It has a high eugenol content, so it may inhibit blood clotting and be toxic to the liver. Avoid while pregnant.

General: keep out of reach of children and pets. Not for internal use unless taken under the supervision or recommendation of an aromatherapist professional. Do not use undiluted on skin, eyes, or mucous membranes; it could cause allergic reactions. Always test first on a small portion of your skin. If you are pregnant, consult with a healthcare provider/ professional experienced with essential oils as some essential oil are less tolerated while others are well loved by pregnant women.

Storage and Handling: the shelf life of ESSENTIAL OILS is usually around 1 year after they're opened, and up to 2 years when unopened. All essential oils oxidize and are subject to lose their therapeutic value and aromatic quality in time. Essential oils benefit from proper storage and handling. Avoid keeping essential oils in a location that is prone to sudden temperature changes such as the bathroom or kitchen. Store them in a cool, dark place, away from heat and light.
