Mustard Orange Oil Vinaigrette

This year at the  Hampton Roads VegFest 2018 we had a great time and the event was a huge success. We met a lot of people and shared with them the many benefits and uses of essential oils! One of the crowd favorites was the recipe we had on display for the Mustard Orange Oil Vinaigrette! This dressing is so flavorful and would take any salad, fish or chicken dish to the next level! Because everyone loved it so much, we have decided to share it with you! 

Not only is this vinaigrette packed with flavors, but it is full of health benefits with the addition of orange oil and basil oil. Orange oil is a known carminative and diuretic. This means it helps your digestive system by helping the body expel excess gas and causing the body to get rid of toxins by increasing urination.

Basil Oil has antimicrobial and antiviral properties. This enables it to be used to fight off viruses and infections. Not to mention both of these oils will add more flavor and health benefits to the vinaigrette than dry herbs ever will!

In the process of drying herbs, many molecules of oils found in plants evaporate, which means dry herbs have less therapeutic benefits than oils, which are the concentrated essence of the plant. that means you get numerous health benefits from using 1-2 drops of essential oils but not from the fresh or dry herbs unless you consume 10 times more the quantity you normally use in recipes.

And this is WHY we prefer to use essential oils instead of dry or even fresh herbs! Oh, and did we mentioned that because essential oils are so concentrated, flavors and the aroma of any recipe using essential oils are so much more intense?! Oh, yes! 

INGREDIENTS:

Mix all ingredients and serve immediately with your favorite food, or you can leave it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes so all the ingredients can blend better together for a more intense aroma. Refrigerate for up to one week and shake well each time before serving. Mix up your next meal with this awesome dressing! 

Orange oil and Basil oil have been recognized by the FDA as safe for consumption, but this is only the case if you purchase a pure, unadulterated oil. We can only recommend ingesting oils that are USDA Certified Organic. Having the USDA Certified Organic label on the bottle itself is the only sure way to know the oil is pure, which is truly safe and edible as the plants are grown in organic soil within an organic farm, hence it doesn't contain any pesticides or artificial fertilizers and GMO's like the plants grown on conventional farms.
